The Company
Sirius Chartering AB, with offices in Fiskebäck, Västra Frölunda, is the trading arm of the Sirius group of companies, with headquarters at Donsö. Sirius Chartering is responsible for the commercial management of the Sirius fleet, which includes fixing tanker vessels on time charters, bare-boat charters, contract of affreightments and spot voyages. In addition to the in-house Sirius vessels, Sirius Chartering also handles a number of vessels owned by external ship Owners on a commercial management basis.

The main focus lies on serving industrial cargo clients, refineries and traders in Northern Europe with our fleet of efficient chemical/product tankers in the segment below 20,000 mt dwt, trading mainly along the Scandinavian coasts, in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the Northern continent including UK. Today we are operating 18 top quality vessels, 16 modern, ice classed chemical/product tankers but also 2 purpose built LNG carriers.

To strengthen our expanding business we now look for an additional vessel operator to join our experienced, yet young and dynamic chartering desk.

The position
As vessel operator you will be responsible for a wide range of different operational and administrative tasks. Staying in close contact with Master and senior officers onboard the vessels as well as with our cargo clients, brokers and port agents to gather updated information is essential for a successful operator. You will plan, monitor and follow up the execution of the voyages. Together with onboard officers you will optimize the financial result of each voyage by evaluating and discussing cargo intake, decide on routing and arrange for bunker replenishment. Post fixture details such as correctly interpreting charter party terms, generating invoices, computing lay time calculations and demurrage claims are also important elements that will have impact on the company’s profitability. A hectic, high frequency trading environment such as the chartering desk can be stressful and demanding, and you will now and then need to operate under time constraint. However, the spirit is high among the colleagues and we have good fun working together in a very tight and close team.

Profile
You are well suited for this position if you…

• have a strong interest in shipping and business linked to the maritime sector
• are well organized and careful with details
• have an education within the maritime sector, within business and administration or similar
• are a skilled computer user with experience from Microsoft Office and similar software
• are a quick learner
• can adopt quickly to changes
• perform well under stress 

This is a full time position for an indefinite period.
Commencement upon agreement, preferably within May 2019.
