Surveyor/Senior Surveyor

We are now looking for a Surveyor/Senior Surveyor to join our team in Sweden to be based in Helsingborg, Malmö or another city in the southwest of Sweden.

Job Responsibilities

As a Surveyor you will carry out surveys and certifications of materials, equipment and components for the marine industry. In addition surveys on existing ships will be part of your role.

This challenging role comes with a high level of responsibility. You will need the ability to think on your feet and make decisions when dealing with client queries and issues. You are expected to identify opportunities to improve our service delivery and assist in developing and maintaining relationships internally and externally to grow our business.

You will carry out your work in a safe and responsible manner and assist our clients to improve their safety performance.

As part of a dynamic team, you will be able to develop your experience and knowledge as well as contribute to the development of the team.

Job Requirements

To be considered for an interview you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or qualifications from a marine institution or
  • Relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s engineering officer.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in the Marine Industry. Previous experience as a surveyor of classification societies is an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of classification rules and regulations, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC regulations and other essential statutory requirements.

We are looking for a self-starter who has the ability to effectively plan and organize workload. You have good interpersonal and communication skills and commercial awareness. Proficiency in Swedish and English and PC literacy are also important to be successful in this role.

Extensive travel within the area will be required therefor a driving license valid in Sweden is essential. This role may also include surveys at sea.
