Hutchinson in Poland – Gdynia Container Terminal (GCT)

Bolaget köpte nyligen (februari) WOG S.A. som ligger i Gdynia hamnen direkt på andra sidan av hamnbasängen – samma basängen som BCT – Baltic Container Terminal och Stenas färjeterminal. Det att nyinköpta bolaget byter namn till det riktiga, respekterade ’varumärke’ kan betyda att Hutchinson tänker faktiskt utöva sina containeraktiviteter i Gdynia. Det är en bra signl i situationen där BCT vill höja sina kapaciteter till 800 000 TEU och DCT i Gdansk (Deepwater Container Terminal) startar snart sin byggfas no 1 som betydera att i näraliggande hamnen blir möjligt att omlasta först 500 000 TUE redan 2006 och upp till 1 mlj om 3-4 år.Får man tro att det finns en sådan lysande framtid för containeromlastning i polska hamnar?Idag omlastar Gdynia 85% av alla sjöburna container från och till Polen.
